Welcome to THE TERRORDOME.

A section of SUPERATOMOVISION which will be focussed entirely on Horror Films.

Whether this will be cinema releases, streaming releases, or just whatever I have in my DVD collection.

The purpose of THE TERRORDOME is for me to write regular reviews. I figure if I have a dedicated section of my site, this will mean I will commit myself to writing more reviews.

I have an odd relationship to Horror. The header image above has a shot from my favourite Horror film, Wes Craven’s SCREAM. I have seen all of Jason, Freddy, Jigsaw, Michael Myers. I have written pieces on here about THE EXORCIST movies, the aforementioned SCREAM and THE CABIN IN THE WOODS. But I am not a lover of the genre. Not like I am with Science-Fiction, Comic-Book movies, or my new favourite subgenre the 90s Legal Thriller. I don’t find myself getting scared easily, movie gore doesn’t freak me out, and I find myself more often than not being more interested in the filmmaking techniques than the actual scares and plot. Which is probably why I consider THE SHINING the scariest movie I have ever seen.

I am looking forward to this part of my Film criticism journey. My two podcasts don’t really cover the genre, if atall, and I want to use my knowledge and my analytical skills to something with a bit of meat to it… so to speak.

So…

Why is this section called THE TERRORDOME?

Well, first it sounds pretty cool. Secondly there isn’t another Film podcast with the same name (as there were with my other name choices). And thirdly…

Yeah. Pretty kickass.
